Tell-Freilichtspiele

16. Juni - 2. September 2011

The William Tell Open-Air Theatre is just as much a part of Interlaken as the legendary apple shot is part of the play. The open-air production of Friedrich Schiller's most successful play has been staged at Matten, near Interlaken, for over 90 years - and enjoyed by over two million spectators. The Tell arena is set in an airy forest clearing only a few minutes from the centre of Interlaken and is easy to reach on foot or bus. Every year, the large open-air stage is graced by over 180 amateur actors, 20 horses and a complete procession of cows, goats and all their bits and pieces.
